The history of K. Zhubanov Aktobe Regional State University (ARSU) dates back to January 1, 1935. The Supervisory board under the chairmanship of akim of Aktobe region Saparbayev B. M. is functioning in the University.
ARGU has signed the Magna Charta Universitatum and is a collective member of Association of Kazakhstan universities, International Association of higher education institutions, International Society of Petroleum Engineers and "World University Rankings" and also scientific and educational consortium between Republic of Belarus and Kazakhstan universities.
Over 11 thousand students are trained under 76 specialties of the Bachelor, Master and PhD programs in ARSU. All educational programs of the university have undergone specialized accreditation. Following the results of the National Rating of higher education institutions held in 2017, 11 educational programs have taken the leading positions. In 6 specialties training is carried out in English.
"The Park of Innovative Technologies" and the "Office of Commercialization" focused on the introduction of scientific research results and promotion of links with manufacturing enterprises of Aktobe region are functioning in ARSU.
ARGU has 8 academic buildings, learning and practice rooms, 2 Students’ Palaces, 2 museums, a sport center, sports facilities, a swimming pool, 2 Students’ Houses, a student's policlinic.
ARGU is traditionally developing partnership relations with higher education institutions and scientific centers of Russia, China, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Belarus, Estonia, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Romania, Germany, Great Britain, Korea and the USA.
